Something nests beneath the chapel.

Walk around and search the crypt. You will hear the Basilisk — claws on stone, a growl, a hiss — and once or twice you will see it slip across a corridor and vanish into the dark. It never attacks in the first seconds, but the longer you search, the closer it gets: louder growls, your heartbeat, guttering candles. Then it attacks from the front: the lights sputter, it rises out of the dark in front of you with blazing eyes, and two burning beams of its gaze climb towards your eyes. Catch them with the mirror so it sees itself and turns to stone. In trials 1 and 2 you have only about 1.8 and 1.4 seconds: too slow, and you lose the trial and it hides again for a while. In trial 3 everyone gets enough time to win — but the score is lower.
| ↑ ↓ or W S | Walk forward / back |
| ← → or A D · drag | Turn · look around |
| Space (hold) or right mouse | Raise the mirror · move the mouse to place and tilt it into the beams, towards its eyes |

Play with the phone sideways. Left thumb: slide to walk and turn. Right thumb: touch and hold anywhere on the right half to raise the mirror; it appears just above your thumb — slide it into the beams. Turn the sound on (and the silent switch off on iPhone). For full screen on iPhone, add the page to the Home Screen.
Hold and slide anywhere: up/down walks, left/right turns. Hold the round Mirror button and touch the beams with your other hand — the mirror goes where you touch and tilts towards it.
| Right hand | The mirror — hold it between your face and the Basilisk, into the beams |
| Left hand | The lantern · either trigger starts / restarts |
| Left stick forward / back | Step forward where you look (hold to keep walking) / step back |
| Right stick left / right | Turn in steps |
Won in trial 1: 3000 · trial 2: 2000 · trial 3: 1000 points, plus up to 1000 for reaction speed (from the moment the beams appear) and up to 500 for aim. If you never catch it in trial 3, fortune saves you after 25 seconds: 500 points.
